What brought you to Flirt Fitness Studio?
I had previously taken unstructured pole fitness classes before Flirt existed. A friend found the Groupon when Flirt first opened. I signed up that day.
What do you love about Flirt Fitness Studio?
The positive, warm and accepting energy in the studio. We all have different values/beliefs/personalities but that gets left behind when you walk into the Studio.
How long have you been at Flirt Fitness Studio?
Since the very beginning. Started instructor training in April 2014 with my first class in May 2014 (can’t believe it has been that long!)
What do you consider your teaching style?
Eek…I don’t know! We each are so different. I suppose “cuddle them with love” until it’s time to get serious. I jokingly have my mini “dictator” moments when I want people to be focused. Even in intro classes, I like to have “no hands on poles” while something is explained/demonstrated so that students don’t become so focused on what my hands/feet may be doing that “listening” to key points is missed (i.e., while focusing on where a foot might go someone may miss instruction about keeping the shoulders engaged and why that is important). I hope that makes sense. Personality wise, I’d probably be considered the sweet/quiet one as a first impression.
What is your favorite playlist during class?
Exciting and Upbeat is my go to…
If I’m going healthy, probably anything from Freshii (slightly obsessed with that restaurant right now). Unhealthy….that’s a big list. Italian cheese bread from Little Caesers, authentic Mexican or just about anything peanut butter (peanut butter cookies with reeses pieces…yes please). I love pie (but only homemade…I can’t buy pre-made from Meijer, Family Fare, Costco, etc.). Fun fact…an employer during tax season used to pay me to make pies for Saturday morning treats instead of buying donuts.
Staying in my jammies all day during the weekend and doing absolutely nothing that needs to get done! Rarely happens but boy is it nice when I can
Favorite article of clothing to dance in?
If in class, “you can’t do it….YET” when students are declaring they can’t do something. I doubt it’s an official quote, but I always say “I’m a half glass full kind of gal”. I try to see to look for the positive in everything.
I love to travel with my husband, friends or family.
Love my fur babies and spoil them rotten (I wish I had more room so I could adopt more).
Never given birth to anyone but was bless with the “bonus” (step) kids when I got married (and have two grand-daughters as a result).
My weakness…I take on too much and leave too little time for me. But isn’t that a lot of our weaknesses.
