Easy + Healthy Almond Butter Protein Bars {No Baking Required!}

WARNING: These bars are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G – all natural and taste like a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup!!

This recipe was created to give you an energy bar with no preservatives, no artificial ingredients, good source of protein, very low sugar, and provide long-lasting energy you need + deserve for every busy day!

Our Easy + Healthy Almond Butter Protein Bars are great for a pre- or post- workout snack – and also a super healthy snack for kids, especially for school lunches or an after-school or sports snack.

You Will Need:

1/2 cup nut butter of choice {it doesn’t have to be almond butter – peanut butter, sunflower seed butter, cashew butter, etc would work!}
1/4 cup chocolate or vanilla protein powder of choice {choose chocolate if you want it to really taste like a healthy Reese’s PB Cup!}
3/4 tsp baking soda {yes, 3/4 teaspoons!}
1/4 cup sweetener of choice: brown sugar, maple syrup, agave nectar, OR honey. Choose your favorite.
2 tbsp. unsweetened applesauce
1/4-1/2 cup dark chocolate chips {if desired for extra chocolate LOVE}


If your nut butter is in the fridge, bring it out so it can become somewhat room-temp and easy to work with. In a large bowl, mix the nut butter, sugar, and applesauce. Add in the protein powder and baking soda until well-combined, then slowly stir in the chocolate chips. Lay out a pan with parchment paper and make 2 tablespoons of batter into a square or bar shape, laying them carefully down onto the parchment paper. This recipe should make about 8-10 bars. You can make them smaller or larger as you wish. Place the bars into the freezer for about 20-30 minutes until tasting. For storage, wrap bars in parchment paper {for grab-and-go} and place them in a Ziploc bag or sealed container in the freezer until needed. These will stay fresh for up to 3 months in the freezer.
